It’s going to be a Jazzy Art Walk

Kyle Carni will demonstrate live glassblowing and flame              working at Galleria di Vetro during the September Art Walk. The   punch-drawing prize for the month is one of his creations.

NOTE: The Sept. 27 Art Walk on Flagler Avenue will be held in conjunction with the 8th annual NSB Jazz Festival and with scheduled “surf” artists from the Fay-canceled August Art Walk.

ART AND JAZZ – ART WALK ON FLAGLER AVENUE

Art Walk on historic Flagler Avenue in New Smyrna Beach is held from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. the fourth Saturday of each month along the quaint five-blocks from the Indian River to the Atlantic Ocean. The Saturday, Sept. 27 Art Walk, themed “Paint to Music,” will be held in conjunction with the 8th annual NSB Jazz Festival, which will feature live music at 10 indoor venues on Flagler Avenue. Also, “surf” artists, such as Kem McNair, from the Fay-canceled August Art Walk will be on the avenue.

Visit Art Walk and take a fascinating stroll along Flagler Avenue while enjoying the wonderful art on

display in galleries, under canopies, on porches and in courtyards. The popular event features painting, jewelry, ceramics, glass blowing, sculpture, fabric arts and more; free children’s activities, entertainment and a special prize drawing; presented by the Gallery Group of Flagler Avenue. DJ Dennis will be playing tunes and making announcements at the gazebo, and look for “musical themed” face and body painting in front of the Cloisters.

As if that’s not enough – there will be music emanating from venues up and down the avenue, courtesy of the 8th Annual New Smyrna Beach Jazz Festival.

It’s all free and in walking distance along the five fabulous blocks between the Indian River and the ocean along New Smyrna’s Flagler Avenue.

Galleria di Vetro will be donating the punch-drawing prize this month. It is sure to be something special created by Kyle Carni, who will be demonstrating live glassblowing and flame working during Art Walk.

The Jazz Festival performances will be held from noon-10: 30 p.m. at several different indoor venues. Organized by Marc Monteson Promotions, there will be a Jazz Fest kick-off party Thursday night at the Om Bar & Chill Lounge. For more information about the NSB Jazz Festival, call 423-9760 or visit www.marcmontesonpromotions.com for the complete schedule of performances.

Art and music – in a charming setting between the river and the ocean – what more could one ask for?
