The annual Holiday Charity Ball was held at the Brannon Center in New Smyrna Beach Saturday, Nov. 17, with a great silent auction, fantastic food from local restaurants, an open bar and lots of action on the dance floor.
Everyone had a terrific time at the ball, which was chaired again this year by the incomparable Kaye Walker, who had help from dozens of hard-working volunteers.
Proceeds from the ball go to benefit Habitat for Humanity, Meals on Wheels and NSB CAPS (Community & Alumni Providing Scholarships).
Lots of familiar face were seen having a good time at the ball – the irrepressible Carol Thomas and her husband Tim, several members of the local camera club, including founder Lola Lawrence, Diana Masters and Joan Hartwig; former Chamber President Mary Reekie Rhodes and her hubby Ken, Susan Adams and Mike Pimental, Kim Bidault and her hubby Al, Clay Gallery artist Teresa Bowen and “green builder” and artist Bud Gilbert, former NSB city commissioner JoAnn O’Bannon, who was volunteering in the silent auction room; Paul and Elaine Reichert (Power Squadron and Friendship Force movers and shakers) , good friends Frankie and Tom Robert, Pegge and Bob Garriques and many, many more.
I haven’t heard who won the Mustang convertible, donated by Will and Bonnie Aller, but will add that information when I find out.
As it has been for 10 years – the Holiday Charity Ball was a great way to start the holiday festivities.
